NORMAN OK February 1986 -- Santa Fe SD40-2 5139 approaches the East Brooks Street crossing on its way east (compass north) with seven other units and a mixed freight in rapidly fading afternoon light. EMD built the 5139 in December 1980 as an RCE receiver with a 123-inch snoot nose to house the extra radio equipment. It underwent maintenance at Morrison Knudsen in 1984. In December 1999 it became BNSF 6867 and wore H1 Paint. (Date approximate, roster information from atsfrr.net) |
