Built in December 1961 as AT&SF GP20 1173 (c/n 26879) on EMD Order 7609, it was renumbered to 3173 sometime between November 1969 and June 1970. it was rebuilt at San Bernardino to GP20u 3073, outshopped July 10, 1980 in AT&SF blue, repainted to SPSF Kodachrome paint sometime after July 31, 1985, and became TP&W 2006 during February 1989 still in SPSF paint. |
