PRR 4801, GG-1, c. 1968
Title:  PRR 4801, GG-1, c. 1968
Description:  Myers. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William J. Myers that was taken perhaps near ZOO Tower in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, perhaps in 1968. Photo Caption: "GG-1 Class No. 4801." PRR engine #4801 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by General Electric during May of 1935, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired (by Conrail) in 1979 after 44 years of faithful service. That's a "Seaboard" car directly behind #4801. The number of the other GG-1 is not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electrified Operations On The Pennsy" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (791-11).
