Description:  Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide from the Fred Byerly Collection that was taken in Kearney, New Jersey, in 1967. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania No. 4801, Class GG-1, Kearney, N.J., 1967." PRR engine #4801 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by General Electric during May of 1935, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and retired (by Conrail) in 1979 after 44 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-17).
