3804 was the only one not earning it's keep at this point. The other 3 diesels, and the 3 slugs are active on this train, as it does some switching at La Porte City. The entire train consist was 130 plus cars, which is quite a large train for the IANR! |

We had taken our Winnebago to the plant in Forest City IA for some warranty work, and found an Iowa Northern job working on a Sunday. I wasnt able to get him working, I was blocked by trees, but he did come past the Winnebago parking lot when he was done. Nice looking units. |

This Iowa Northern power was working some cars at Forest City, then headed north when they were done, rolling past the Winnebago plant where I was parked. It was a lucky catch, and I have no idea where they were headed. This is a nice looking paint scheme, much nicer than the last time I encountered this road, in 1987. At that time, they were using ex BN Geeps, still in green, relettered. |
