Description:  CN container train parallels Hwy. 41 and approaches the Hwy. G overpass as it heads northeast via a remnant of the former C&NW main line at Snells, WI on 15 Apr. '17. Snells is now little more than a map dot in the Town of Neenah, Winnebago Co. A Post Office was established 4 May 1876, originally called Snell’s Station, sometimes referred to as Snell’s Crossing. This small, rural community once included a depot, cheese factory, sawmill, school, and stockyard. It does not look like any real remnants of the original community remain. Even the station sign, erected after the depot was removed, is gone. CN 174812 MoW hi-rail is parked on the former SOO main line.

Description:  Two hours later, after chasing 3 ships on the canal, I was back at the yard, where patience paid off. I lingered just a little bit longer, after seeing the train push way back into the yard, and sure enough it came up close, but not all the way to the crossing at Canby Street - but close enough for me to snag a few pics. Unfortunately, I was unable to get close enough to identify the trailing locomotives.
