Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8259, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company during August of 1916 and retired in February of 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the left is the 17th Street Bridge in Juniata. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.

It was published in the Winter 1986-1987 issue of "The High Line" magazine, page 7. Partial & Revised Caption: "Double-headed H's approach Baltimore Pike after entering Newtown Square Branch. H-10s No. 8259 is in the lead, with H-9S [#3097] as helper.... Photo by Don Kehl; June 10, 1949." Both locomotives are (2-8-0) "Consolidateds." #8259 is an H-10S built by the American Locomotive Company during 1916 and retired in February of 1959. #3097 is an H-9S "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during 1910, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S in June of 1917, and retired in December of 1954.
