Description:  As train rides are not currently operated at Lenox, former Conrail 9128 has been regulated to display status in the Lenox yard. Built in 1952 as Pennsylvania Railroad 8528, the locomotive also passed through Penn Central and Conrail ownership. It arrived at the museum in 2006 and still wears its faded but fully intact Conrail blue and white, a rarity for locomotives in 2016.

After the New Haven
Title:  After the New Haven
Description:  After the New York, New Haven & Hartford was merged into Penn Central and its successor went bankrupt, a Government-funded organization known as Conrail, the Consolidated Rail Corporation, took control of the Berkshire Line, while passenger service on the line ended under the control of Penn Central, Conrail operated many of local freight trains over the line with switcher or road switcher locomotives, this EMD SW9, built for the PRR and later owned by Conrail, may have very well once seen itself powering a local along the Housatonic River on the Berkshire Line at some point in its past.
