NW car on the ex Virginian
Title:  NW car on the ex Virginian
Description:  This NW caboose was on the back of a train on the ex Virginian line that ran out of Deepwater WV. I had gone to WV to chase C&O 614, and caught this purely by dumb luck. Too bad the day was so cloudy.

Vanished vista
Title:  Vanished vista
Description:  Virginia was one of the states that required trains to have cabooses by law, so they hung on there longer than anywhere else. The other classic part of the scene is the signals, which were a Southern trademark. They will be gone soon, if they arent already as PTC pushes railroads into upgrading their systems to accomodate it.
