Album Info:McHugh Bros. used a Baldwin as their main freight power in 1977, and for years after, over the New Hope & Ivyland. Contrast 44 years later in 2021, NH&I freight power is provided by former Canadian Pacific SD40-2 5577. Interesting NH&I passenger acquisitions in 1977 were 1931-built Harlan & Hollingsworth MU's. Conrail had operated the MU's for almost a year prior to their NH&I purchase over Septa's former Reading Philadelphia Division with their home base at Wayne Junction.

Description:  A string of vintage RDG MU's curve behind a New Hope & Ivyland steam tender, with combine 799 first in line. Conrail operated the MU's for almost a year over Septa's former Reading Philadelphia Division with their home base at Wayne Junction. A number of the Harlan & Hollingsworth 1931-built RDG MU's were purchased by the New Hope and Ivyland RR, and had recently arrived at their New Hope, PA home in April, 1977.

Description:  McHugh Brothers DS4-4-1000 #101 takes a breather in New Hope, PA in April, 1977. The former Copper Range RR DS4-4-1000 was celebrating 30 years of operation as the main power for McHugh Bros. Heavy Hauling, Inc. McHugh operated over the NH&I RR as part of a lease agreement with the county in 1974.
