Description:  I hoped to catch the last two units left in service in DMIR paint on my first trip to the Twin Ports, but didn't really expect to. However, not long after I arrived at Proctor Yard I spotted 215 leading a switch job toward the north end of the yard!

Description:  The photogenic deep maroon with gold trim of the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway, like the similar paint scheme of the Wisconsin Central LTD, has been almost eradicated from locomotives on the active roster of parent company Canadian National. 215 is one of only two left that still wear it.

Description:  The maze of trackage coming out of the BNSF yard, crossing and running parallel to Winter Street, puts the complexity of the rail network in many larger cities to shame! LST&T stands for the defunct Lake Superior Terminal & Transfer Railway. Not sure where these were going, which railroad was operating them, or how they ended up headed to Chicago on the CP by Saturday.

Description:  I didn't expect yet another northbound so close behind the last, and parked here anticipating a leisurely wait for CN 6013 South. Instead, I heard the rumble of EMDs off to my RIGHT (east, or RR south) and leapt out of the car to set up. Unfortunately in my haste I double-bumped the record button on my video camera, and stopped the video seconds after starting it.

Description:  This train was actually ahead of the CN 5338 North by about one block (5338 was riding the yellows behind it), I had missed it just before getting to Munger but was going to let it go to focus on the CN 6013 South. The arrival of 5338's train changed my plans.

Description:  This was sandwiched between a northbound intermodal that snuck up as I was trying to head south to Proctor after the last two northbounds (only got handheld video of that one) and yet another northbound manifest that I missed at Adolph, again while trying to get to Proctor. Note the unusual "1 Track" signs on the crossing signals. Each signal also has an electronic bell on top, but neither sounded.
