The Metro-North tracks linking New Haven (to the left) and Grand Central Terminal (to the right) are visible on the right.

Description:  MNCR. Here is an original photo that I took while riding a Metro-North Commuter Railroad train from Larchmont to Grand Central Terminal on Sunday, 02 March 1980. In this photo, my train has just crossed the tunnel over Metro-North's Harlem Line. The Metro-North tracks linking Brewster/White Plains (to the top) and Grand Central Terminal (to the left) are visible on the left. An abandoned power sub-station is visible on the right.

Description:  MNCR. Here is an original photo that I took while riding a Metro-North Commuter Railroad train from Larchmont to Grand Central Terminal on Sunday, 02 March 1980. In this photo, my train is crossing over to Track #3 so that it can stop at "Fordham" in about seven minutes. "Woodlawn" is where the two lines from/to Grand Central merge/split: Harlem to the front, New Haven to the left and right, Grand Central to the rear. Visible in the distance (F to R) is Metro-North's JO Tower, the Saw Mill River Parkway Bridge, as well as one of the highway bridges in Mount Vernon. Photo taken as my train is passing through Woodlawn Station.

In this photo, my train has just crossed over the Haarlem River via the twin lift bridges. On the near side of the bridges, it's Manhattan; on the far side, it's Da Bronx! Photo taken as my train is about to enter 125th Street Station on Track #3.

In this photo, my train has just departed 125th Street Station on Track #2. The spire of the Empire State Building is visible just to the right of the four-track signal bridge.
