Album Info:Here is a two-page article by Mr. John L. DeLaney entitled "A Shipper Talks To Railroaders." It was published originally in the May 1955 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, pages 26-27. "Mr. DeLaney, the author of this article, is noted as a booster and at times a friendly critic of railroading, but his boosting is so frequent that in Elmira he is often called 'Mr. Railroad.'" (Page 26)

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1196, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during May of 1912, rebuilt as an H-9S in May of 1925, and retired in September of 1959 after 47 years of faithful service.
