Album Info:My first batch of pics from April 2017 captures Niagara Region trains in Springtime on several railroads: CN, CP, LTEX working the Oxyvinals Plant, GATX switcher working for TRRY, Amtrak Maple Leaf, and those sparkling black and white Norfolk Southern locomotives on Fort Erie freight transfers.

Description:  I was able to catch Train 531 again at Fort Erie - as it slowed down for the big bend at Duff Yard. It was a great day in Fort Erie (a small town once bustling with steam and diesel action), and I stayed for quite a while outside the old CN Workshop (now home to the Niagara Railway Museum), soaking up some local railroad history.

Description:  I was just in time to catch this short but interesting train that rumbled out of CN Southern Yard and headed for the CP Hamilton Sub at the Brookfield Wye with a freight transfer to CP Lambert Yard. Fortunately, I was getting all this talk between the RTC and the train on my scanner, so was able to catch this freighter twice again - on CP trackage running parallel to Townline Tunnel Road, and on the Forkes Road Wye where the track winds up to the junction at Yagar, just south of CN Southern Yard.

Description:  Easily my 'pic of the month' is this shot of Train 531 from the Shisler Road overpass - on a perfect Spring afternoon. Earlier in the day I got a fine shot of a the freight ship Algoma Enterprise cruising down the Welland canal, so this snap of Train 531 was the ideal windup to a very rewarding day of photography.
