Album Info:Back in March, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Sioux City Railroad Museum! Located in western Iowa on the grounds of the old Milwaukee Railroad shops, this delightful complex is full of railroad equipment! The highlight of the collection is the steam engine, but they also have a couple cabooses, some other rolling stock, and a nice model layout. Plus, the collection is housed inside a genuine roundhouse, which still has the old turntable in front of it. If you are ever in the area, definitely add this to your plans. Enjoy!

Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge
Title:  Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge
Description:  This bridge was built by the Burlington Northern Railroad and opened in 1982, spanning the Missouri River. It replaced an earlier bridge the Chicago & Northwestern had owned, which had fallen into disrepair. Since that bridge was torn down, the C&NW was granted trackage rights over this bridge, and Union Pacific still holds those today. Description:  Appropriately, the yard contains a Milwaukee Road caboose-though, ironically, this caboose never served on the Milwaukee Road! It was built as #11168 for the Chicago and North Western. Painted since then.

Description:  After retirement in 1955, the engine was saved when I.W. Reck of Sioux City wrote the railroad asking they donate the engine. Now, it sits on display for future generations to enjoy!
