Album Info:Went out west in June 2018 for a vacation to NM. I'd last been out in this area in 2011, and a lot has changed. I stayed in the Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Chama, and Socorro areas.

ATSF Right-of-Way
Title:  ATSF Right-of-Way
Description:  Some of the largest remnants of the Santa Fe's Magdalena Branch, this trestle is right next to US 60. The branch was constructed in the late 1880's to connect the mines at Magdalena to the Santa Fe's El Paso Subdivision at Socorro. The mines ran out by 1931, but livestock kept the branch alive until 1972.

Description:  Santa Fe 5030, one of Santa Fe's huge 5011 class of 2-10-4's, sits on display at Salvador Perez Park in Santa Fe. These huge behemoths could reportedly run 100-car reefer trains at 75 mph with their 74-inch drivers, the largest ever applied to a 2-10-4.

Description:  Built by AC&F in 1930, it was rebuilt in 1978. It now stands at the crossroads of Cerrillos and St. Francis, the two main roads through Santa Fe. The line behind it sees about 10 Rail Runner services a day.
