To a Hoosier railfan, this is Mecca - Monon, IN, was the cross point of the Monon Railroad (Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville). What is left of the Monon ROW now belongs to CSX. The branch heading to Indianapolis for the most part gone or turned into a rails-to-trails bike path. |

The former Monon ROW is now CSX property although much of the original lines in Indiana have been ripped up. Still, to a Hoosier railfan, this is sacred land once under the Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville control - "Monon land". |
