Time of day is around 5 pm. Train is heading compass south, and has just passed Rt 9. Framingham State College is up the hill to the right of the train (east). The weed covered track in the foreground was removed within weeks of this picture. |

| Description: |
To the best of my knowledge at the the time this was taken in (Spring of 2001) this was only one of three C30-7's to be painted into the BNSF Heritage 2 scheme. This locomotive most likely came east on Q-264, a vehicle train from outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Q264 is still the train to catch on the Boston Line that has the best prospects for foreign power. I just wish this day had been sunny. |

Amtrak Locomotive 49 leads the Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited around a curve in Southborough, Massachusets. The location is just east of the MBTA commuter station. The fall colors and sunlight made for a beautifu scene. To emphasize the fall colors I focused in on the orange tree and zoomed in on my 300 mm lens. I then took several shots as the train approached. This is the best one where the nose of the locomotive was in the Sun. |
