Album Info:As the Patchman continued his grim and relentless pursuit in 2003, I attempted to shoot every remaining engine still in C&NW colors, whether running on the UP or in service elsewhere. This was not an attempt to get prize-winning shots but only to catch these engines in classic C&NW locations while still possible. Anywhere in the Midwest was fair game on the chase, as you will note in the variety of locations. I had to take them as they were presented, including as trailing units and on cloudy days. Check back as I will add to this album frequently.

Description:  CNW 6819 was purchased by Relco at a UP auction in North Platte. It was towed to Proviso, then back to West Chicago. Description:  By mid-afternoon, this train was ready to depart, but the WSOR local was working in between Rock Springs and Madison, so it waited. I hoped to shoot this train on the Merrimac bridge, but was thwarted. This train finally departed at dusk. This was the final trip to the quarry for any engine painted in C&NW scheme. This engine was patched during the first week of May 2003 at Proviso.
