Description:  With months full of nothing interesting on the transfer, It was a bit nice to see an SD40-2R in the lead for a bit today. The only thing that really makes this less exciting is the fact that I shot this at sundown in the winter, and got much better shots than I could now.

Description:  The former Wisconsin Central transfer, which was a standard job since 1987 and to 2001, now looks like this, 7 years after the merger. This would have had a Maroon and Gold SD45 and a Maroon Ford Explorer if it were during the WC days.

Description:  The 18 year paintjob has lost a lot of color, but its still looking pretty good. Many moons ago, this unit wore the Dark Green and Orange of the Western Pacific. With this engine down here today, the total amount of WC's on the R916 transfer job this year totals four, which back in 2003-2004 would have been on one train.......

Description:  Two EMD's (including the GTW 4900) head past the old codelines that at one time draped this whole segment, matter of fact all segments, of the Soo Line. Today the WC Transfer passes by one of the remnants on their way back to the Foley wye. From this angle I don't mind these units that much!

Description:  The class unit, now repainted and AC equipped, starts in on the Shoreham Loop with its younger counterpart along for the ride. Cottonwood is out in full force, if you look closely you can find white dots throughout the picture.
