Double Stacks at Alamogordo
Title:  Double Stacks at Alamogordo
Description:  In town for my 40th High School reunion and a chance to duplicate a shot I made 38 years ago. In 1976 it was a single SP SW1500 pulling the Alamo local; in 2014 it's three units running a double stack train westbound towards El Paso. While the "Golden State Line" through here in '76 was an SP route with moderate to light traffic due to ongoing difficulties with the Rock Island connection at Tucumcari, it's now a very busy (up to one train per hour) operation.
