Description:  Overview of cars stored at Gateway Rail Services in Madison, IL. The observation car in orange paint is ex-D&RGW 800057 "Colorado", nee-NYC 10562 "Fall Brook", a Budd 5DBR/Lounge built in 1949 for the "New England States". The other observation car is ex-SBD/SCL 775074, exx-SCL 5822, nee-SAL 6402, a coach-obsv built by Budd in 1939 for the original Silver Meteor. Amtrak didn't want it, so it was later used by SBD/SCL as a locomotive simulator instruction car.

Description:  Another former NYC observation car at Gateway Rail Services - "Wingate Brook" is a 5 DBR/Lounge built by Budd in 1949 for the Southwestern Limited. It was also used as a back-up to the two regularly assigned Creek-series cars on the 20th Century Limited, and later saw service as Amtrak 3260.
