The 9044 was built for the CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO; it was one of five cars (9041-9045) rebuilt with a blunt end in 1953 and was retired in 1968. (approximate month) |

They were sold to the MTA in 1970 where their capacity was increased to 78 seats and they were renumbered 2450-2455. The 2452 was retired in 1977 as a result of wreck damage. (approximate month) |

They retained their same numbers on the Penn Central, although this car still retains its Pennsy-style number at one end and a PRR Keystone emblem next to its vestibule.
