GARIBALDI OR Sept 29 1978 -- Rayonier 2-8-2 OCSR 90 is on display at the Oregon Coast Scenic facility. The locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1926 as Polson Logging Co. (Hoquiam WA) no. 90. Polson became part of Rayonier Inc. in 1945. The engine was retired in the early '60s and sold to the Oregon Memorial Steam Train Assoc. and put on display in Garibaldi in 1963. UP 1872 and 1870B were mated in June 1976. EMD built 1870B (b/n 15076) in September 1951. It was scrapped at Omaha in June 1982. The 1234 was renumbered to 1237. In 1998 it was sold to David J. EMD built the locomotive (b/n 33660) in May 1968. It was rebuilt in Sacramento to SD45R 7499 in March 1984 as part of the M-99 Program. It was retired by Union Pacific June 18 2001. It was acquired by Ohio Central System, still in SP paint, as OHCR 7499. It eventually gained Ohio Centrals distinctive paint scheme.
