Album Info:During the first few years after CP took over the D&H, they ran annual employee picnic trains to Oneonta, where a picnic was held in September. One train ran from Saratoga, and one from Taylor PA.

Description:  The south end picnc train approaches the overpass that connects NY 7 to I 88 just south of Otego, giving a superb view of the Susquehanna Valley. The train is a great way to see it. Note the ex NJ DOT car head out. Most of the cars came from NYSW or Steamtown.

Description:  The shot of a train approaching the then active siding at Dyes was a challenge, since you had to be on the shoulder of I 88, risking attention from the state troopers, as well as injury from some of the less careful drivers. I was able to get this shot of the picnic train coming up on the home signal there.
