Semaphore install at the WSRR
Title:  Semaphore install at the WSRR
Description:  A few notes...: The motor, via gear reduction, develops the power to pull the chain to lift the arm. The leingth of the chain between the top and bottom sprokets determine the amount travel and distance of lift applied to the shaft which extends up the pipe to the signal arm. The tubular device on the right is a shock absorber to cuishion the weight of the arm and shaft when they drop. In these two photos the shaft is extended and the arm is down. It is an interesting device to see in operation. The sensor switch which stops the motor – and shaft upwards movement – is sensivitive as is the air vent on the top of the damper. Mike's done an excellent job restoring the innards and refershing the rest of the hardware. Intergration in to trains ops is being discussed. /DL
