Album Info:The historic main celebration in the 150th anniversary year of Finnish railways (VR) was being held at the Finnish Railway Museum in Hyvinkää over the weekend 11 – 12 August 2012. A very wide selection of historic passenger and freight rolling stock and track maintenance equipment through the ages was on display. Many vintage steam and diesel locomotives provided regular train services on the route Hyvinkää-Lohja-Karjaa-Hanko, including shunting operation on different stations. In Lohja and Rajamäki were feeder services provided by vintage diesel railcars. The Hanko–Hyvinkää Railroad, operating 1872–1875, was Finland's first privately funded railway. Soon it got into financial troubles, the railroad company was sold to the Finnish State Railways in 1875. Today the line is used for freight only, mainly for transport of paper, wood, chemical and other factories goods as well as Hanko incoming and outgoing harbour traffic. Hanko is the southernmost town in Finland. Description:  Hr1 class was the largest passenger express steam locomotive, built in Finland between 1937 and 1957 and was in operating service till 1971. Twenty-two units were built. They were numbered 1000-1021. The 4-6-2 steamer provided daily services between Hyvinkää and Hanko during the 150 years anniversary. For the trip with 10 stops at passenger stations along the line it needed 4 hours travelling time.
