Album Info:Thought something was up when the eastbound Canadian National train suddenly slowed as it was pulling through town. Looking down the tracks after it had passed, I could see it stopped with the conductor near its back car. A backup maneuver was in the works! Some of the eastbound trains would pull through town on the CN mainline, then back up onto the former Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Ry mainlines, and finally pull forward to head north on the EJE tracks. When the turnout is finally finished directly from the CN to the EJE line, this procedure will be gone - much to the thanks for the motorists who must endure three blockages as it goes through this process! Have to admit as a photographer, it will be missed. Always fun to catch the cars more than once!
