Album Info:I played a gig in Cortland on Friday 9/26/1997. In the very early morning hours of the 27th when the gig wrapped-up, I did not go home. At a rest area between Marathon and Binghamton I slept in my car. When I woke up, I headed for the Starrucca viaduct. But I arrived a minute or two late to set-up for a shot, after that I was in hot-pursuit!

Description:  A "training exercise" with my friend Jack Jakeman this past week-end had me reminiscing about this chase, so even though the photos are lousy, I decided to post them anyway. I believe that the NYS&W called this train the 555 back then. Of all the photos I got, not one of them reveals the number of the second engine; dang it!

@ Kellogg Rd.

Description:  I hopped down in the ditch for this shot! Even with the severe back-lit nature of this shot, the red color of the warning lights is better captured by the 35mm Vivitar camera used for this shot as opposed to my current Canon digital!

Finally in Syracuse
Title:  Finally in Syracuse
Description:  I just realized that I'm gettin' a wave from the conductor here! Cool! Anyway.........the 3636 has led an intermodal train from New Jersey to Syracuse, NY. Now it is on Conrail's NY-Chicago main. They're probably going to wye the power so that they can go back south with the 3636 leading in that direction.
