Album Info:After a several day delay, NYO&W #116 [EMD NW2], arrived at the State Route 30 grade crossing of the Delaware & Ulster Railroad in Kelly Corners, NY for unloading. The trucks from this locomotive were delivered nine days prior on May 12. According to -very- high placed sources within the administration of the Delaware & Ulster Railroad; NYO&W #116 was the personal locomotive of Walter G. Rich (President & Chief Executive Officer, Delaware Otsego Corporation & parent organization of the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway). (This has since been confirmed through independent channels.) Mr. Rich passed away August 10, 2007 and #116 was entrusted to the Delaware & Ulster Railroad for relocation and preservation. Bennett Motor Express [ http://www.bennettig.com/ ] of McDonough, GA was hired for haulage from Binghamton to Kelly Corners. The hauler used by Bennett Motor Express to transport #116 was a multiple articulated 15 axle depressed center (drop deck) extendable hauler with independently steerable trucks. The front group has 6 axles (two groups of three axles) and the rear group contains 9 axles (three groups of three axles) with two groups independently steerable. Each steerable group of axles has independent hydraulic steering. Total amount of axles wheels for the trailer: 15 axles / 60 wheels. The center well portion containing the locomotive is expandable with a pair of removable side girders. The girders were installed for the locomotive move and removed upon unloading of the locomotive, to make the trailer more maneuverable on highways. The tractor was a Kenworth W900 with 4 axles (1 steering, 3 load axles) for a combined tractor - trailer total of 19 axles / 74 wheels.
