Album Info:
This album is a collection of photos of the St. Louis MetroLink passing through different spots along the Red and Blue lines in St. Louis City and County. PLEASE use caution if you ever wish to take photos of MetroLink. Their policy says they allow it in "public areas" of Metro's system. They do however have a policy that says "no taking pictures of infrastructure" and a lot of their employees think their private policy has legal authority outside their property lines. They do not own the County and City right of ways. They're pretty camera shy and awfully sensitive about people taking pictures of anything that's their property so railfan this system at your own risk.

Description:
I took this photo on my way home from a long bike ride, all the way from Downtown to the chain of Rocks Bridge. Since I love taking photos of trains, I decided to shoot a few MetroLinks before I got on mine back to North Hanley. This was also before I even knew about photo harassment on transit systems. I dont even remember if any guards were there but nothing was said to me. Car 2006 is shown here crossing the Eads Bridge and entering the interlocking on the Missouri side just before arriving at the Lacledes Landing Station. She is taking a Blue Line Train to Shrewsbury, MO.

MetroLink Car 2010 heads east toward Rock Road on the old Wabash
Description:
Car 2010 is heading into Rock Road Station toward Shiloh on the old UD (Union Depot) branch of the Wabash Railroad. To the left, you can see where the ground is worn from so many people walking along the right-of-way. People have done this since the line opened as a shortcut to easily reach the station from North Market Street to avoid looping around all the side streets to reach the station.

Right after I took this photo, the security guard rushed towards and shouted very rudely “UH-UH, UH-UH YOU CANT TAKE PICTURES! METRO DON’T ALLOW IT!” which is bullshit.
