Description:
CN local heads south as it returns to the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 24 Dec. '13. The building on the left, at 122 Union St. in Neenah, was a former rail-served industry that was dismantled in early Apr. ’15. I don't know what its last primary function was, but it was labeled as an ice house on the 1913 Sanborn map.

IC 3138 and GTW 4620
Description:
CN local halted at Millview Dr. as it waits to enter the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 1 Feb. '14. Train was likely returning from Manitowoc. Until a few years ago, a train stopped here would have been hidden behind the Glatfelter Paper mill (formerly Bergstrom Paper, originally Winnebago Paper), which stood for well over a century (the oldest part of the original mill was constructed in 1874). The lead locomotive is parked under the remnants of the steam pipes that used to connect the paper mill to the now defunct Fox Valley Energy Center (formerly Minergy Fox Valley Glass Aggregate Plant).

Description:
CN MoW crews and equipment, including CN 692-15 (Drapeau Rail Heater), replace one of the rails on the main line through the S-curve at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 29 Jan. '14. The flames are a little more noticeable than the earlier photograph I submitted. The previous week they had replaced the rails on the other track.

CN local approaches the Main St. overpass as it passes through the work zone at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 4 Feb. '14. MoW crews and equipment, including CN 9254 (anchor applicator) and CN 9256 (anchor adjuster), were replacing one of the rails on the main line through the S-curve. The previous week they had replaced the rails on the other track.

Description:
CN local crosses Towmen Rd. as it heads southwest on former SOO rails at Shawano Junction (formerly Fox River Junction) in Town of Menasha, WI on 8 Feb. '14. Train was likely returning from Shawano, or at least Center Valley, and was pulling 26 covered hoppers. The other set of tracks connect to the former C&NW rails that run to Appleton and points beyond.

CN local approaches CN through freight at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 8 Feb. '14. Local was likely returning from Shawano, or at least Center Valley, and was pulling 26 covered hoppers. Through freight had four locomotives, BNSF 6274, BNSF 4855, CN 7201, and CN 201B.
