Title:  CTA 2200s and 2000s on Lake Street Bridge
Description:  That's a meet on the Lake Street EL on the Lake Street Bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River. The huge building is the Merchandise Mart. The CTA General Offices were in the building. The shot is to the northeast. The Chicago River runs along the front of the Mart from Lake Michigan about a mile to the east. The North Branch of the River runs north to the left of the Mart. The top of the building showing over the right half of the Mart is the Hancock. The South Branch drains the North Branch and the River into the Illinois River/ Mississippi River System. Once upon a time the Chicago River drained into Lake Michigan causing all kinds of pollution and disease to Chicagoens.
