Description:  Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Mayer Pearlman that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, perhaps in 1956. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania K-4 No. 3880 and GG-1 No. 4884 at South Amboy, N.J." Engine #3880 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1923 and retired in August of 1957, while #4884 is GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata in March of 1939 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Railroads Around New York" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (254-15).

Description:  Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Homer G. Benton that was taken in Belmar, New Jersey, in April of 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3880, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1923 and retired in August of 1957 after 34 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a morning commuter train to South Amboy. There, #3880 will uncouple and be replaced by a GG-1 which will pull the train to Newark and New York City.
