Early morning at the Santa Fe's Clovis NM roundhouse. The MP power is from a daily pool train out of Ft Worth; the MP units (GP35 625, GP38-2 917, GP35 656) weren't particularly welcome on the Santa Fe west of Clovis as most didn't have dynamic brakes (like 2 of the 3 here). In the background is a typical assortment of ATSF power at this time- S2 switchers; EMD F-units, Geeps and CF7s for the locals and Carlsbad line and big EMD and GE six-axle power for the main. |

NORMAN OK April 1977 -- Two SD45s split the signals and approach the Automatic Train Stop shoe at the east side of the University of Oklahomas Duck Pond area. ATSF 5601 was built by EMD in May 1969 as an RCE master. In June 1985 it was rebuilt to an SD45u and renumbered ATSF 5385. On Feb 6 1998 it became BNSF 6408. It was retired in April 1995.
