Number 148 was built by the CB&Q at the West Burlington, Iowa Shops in 1887, renumbered to 1148 in 1898, renumbered again to 104 in 1904, and retired on an unknown date.

Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-4-0 Atlantic type Class A-1 148 (2nd) at Denver, Colorado on an unknown day in 1922, print from Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. This locomotive was built in 1889 (c/n 2185) by the Rhode Island Locomotive Works (Alco) for the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad as Atlantic type number 228, renumbered in 1904 into the CB&Q system as number 148, retired in June 1927.
