Big Boy 4021 departs Harriman with an extra westbound. Harriman was a small railroad community, and most of it is pictured here. The main housing were UP employee bunkhouses in a row on the north side of the tracks. The UP coal tower and water tower were located on the south side of the tracks, along with speeder shacks and a sding for incoming coal hoppers. With the dissappearance of steam from UP, Harriman became obsolete, as diesels did not require a fuel stop when crossing the Wasatch. She was stored in Cheyenne, marked as unserviceable. Eventually, time would catch up to the 4-8-8-4, and the 4021 would be cut up for scrap on August 31, 1962.
