Chicago Transit Authority S-606 at Dempster Street in Skokie, Illinois on October 25, 1964, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The car was built in 1923 for the Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad as line car 606 by the Cincinnati Car Company. The CTA purchased the car in 1963 upon the cessation of North Shore Line service and rebuilt it. Yes, that is a step-ladder on the roof of the line car. |
