Title:  MILW 2-D-D-2 #E-1 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  Built by GE in 1919 as the first of 5 bi-polar electric locomotives for the Milwaukee Road's western division, it originally carried the number 10250 but was renumbered in 1939. Later the Milwaukee Road shops tried rebuilding the bi-polars but it was not a successful effort. All but one (E-2) were scrapped in 1962. E.J. Roberts photo credit.

Description:  Here is another view of the first of the famous 1919 GE built five bi-polars used by the Milwaukee Road in their western electrification porject. The unit originally carried the number 10250 but was renumbered in 1939. Later it was unsuccesfully rebuilt by the Milwaukee Road shops in 1953. Eventually four of the five were scrapped in 1962.
