Description:  East Altoona. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Mike Zollitsch that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in June of 1954. Shown here are several Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives stored for future use on the Eastbound Locomotive Ready Tracks. Among them is engine #6810, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in February of 1958 after 32 years of faithful service. The sky-high smokestack marks the location of the Powerhouse for the East Altoona Roundhouse. Obscured by smoke and steam in the middle distance are HOMER Tower and the Westbound Hump.

Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Nelson Bowers that was taken near Rockville, Pennsylvania, in March of 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6810, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in February of 1958 after 32 years of faithful service. It has just departed the Enola Yards with a mixed-cargo freight train, and is threading the interlocking on the Rockville Bridge on its way to Williamsport and points North.
