Description:  Here is page seven of a 14-page camera study by W.A. Feibelman entitled "Altoona Interlude." It was published originally in his (1979) monograph entitled "Rails To Pittsburgh: 1945-1970," page 63. Top Photo, Partial Caption: "Having arrived at Altoona, the fireman is leaving mirror-shiny Sharknose 5785, which is less than a year old." Parked under the 12th Street Footbridge are (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5785 and a "BP" Class B-unit whose number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #5785 was built as a BP-20 passenger unit in November of 1948 (rated at 2,000 horsepower), rebuilt in 1952 as a BF-16Z freight unit (rated at 1,600 horsepower), and retired in September of 1962 after just 14 years of revenue service.
