Here is a photo showing Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6744, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A in July of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in February of 1947, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of service. The names of the photographer and the other two individuals, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.)

Description:  Here is page 11 of a 17-page version of the Pennsylvania Railroad's 13-page booklet entitled "Altoona Shops Inspection Trip ~ Sunday, May 16, 1937." It appeared in the September 1981 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 14. Partial Caption: "The PRR had several locomotives on display without tenders, including . . . M-1a No. 6744. Ladders were provided so the 'fans' could view the cabs. Photo by Dr. Walter Teskey." #6744 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in February of 1947, and retired in September of 1959. Photo taken in front of the PRR's Erecting & Machine Shop in Juniata. The map includes a "Key" to Colonial Battlefields along the eastern PRR.
