Description:  Meadows. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 27 December 1952. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is PRR engine #8173, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during October of 1915 and retired in October of 1957 after 42 years of faithful service. Description:  Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of a photo by William K. Viekman that was taken in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1956. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania H-10's, 2-8-0's, Nos. 7234, 9989, 9895, and 8173, Sandusky, Ohio, 1956." Shown here are four Pennsylvania Railroad "Consolidations" built by four different firms. #7234 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as number "7234" during December of 1913, renumbered "7563" in 1958, and retired in October of 1958. #9989 was built in Juniata as Vandalia H-8C number "419" during February of 1912, rebuilt by Vandalia as H-8SC number "361" in September of 1916, renumbered PRR "8824" in 1917, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-10S in November of 1920, renumbered "9889" in 1951, later renumbered "9989," and retired in August of 1957. #9895 was built by the American Locomotive Company during June of 1913 and retired in October of 1957. #8173 was built by the Lima Locomotive Works during October of 1915 and retired in October of 1957. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam Power ~ East and West" that's produced by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (816-11).
