Poor quality photo with sever degradationa and staining but shows the Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado sitting at an unidentified roundhouse, possibly Mount Clare in Baltimore, MD. The loco was built in May of 1911 as B&O #4063. Specs - serial #36536, Q-1 class, 64" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 276,050 lb, tractive effort of 50,184 lb. The last of the Q-1 class (160 member total) was retired in 1956. The date is approximate. Unknown photographer. |
