Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad GP9 287 at Denver, Colorado on an unknown day in May 1968, photographer unknown, duplicate slide by Al Chione, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 287 was built by EMD completed in June 1954 ( c/n 19626 ), became BN 1972, retired by the BN in in June 1984. Also seen are the last of the Burlington's E5 locomotives that the CB&Q sold to the C&S, were traded to EMD on March 15, 1968, and scrapped. |
