MEBU rolls west behind an NYSW B40-nothing unusual there-and three CP units, a new development that was about to become a standard sighting in the Tier. I was at the Hess station on NY 17C in Endwell, figuring this would be a good place to get gas, so I could see the train if it showed. I was right on. The station is now a used car lot, taking it off the must stop places for gas and goodies, though there is a Valero a couple of blocks west, that allows you to see a train passing, but theres no shot there. |

There was a small trailer park on Conklin Road, almost adjacent to the CP engine house. Sometimes you could get a shot here if nothing was parked on the runners, such as on this day. A wide variety of equipment could be seen. Todays view has a PLM unit, a few CP units, a D&H lightning stripe GP 38-2, and a leftover from steam days, an old tender. whose purpose I do not now recall. The ex DLW yard tower can be seen at far left. |
