Chicago Great Western Railway S2 10 at Chicago, Illinois on February 13, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was one of three (#'s 8-10) Alco S2's owned by the CGW, this one was built in June 1947 (c/n 75239), and in July 1968, became the property of the C&NW through merger. It was first renumbered 1015 (2nd), then renumbered 1085 (2nd) in December 1971, then renumbered again to 1094 (2nd) in May 1973. It was retired May 21, 1975, sold to Nekoosa Paper Co., becoming 17, and was resold to Railway Equipment Leasing Co. (RELCO), becoming RE 1064. |
