1057 is leading SCL train 278 into Barnwell, SC in this 1979 photo. 278 usually came through Barnwell after dark so I didn't have a chance to photograph it too often. L&N, A&WP, Frisco, Georgia, SP and Cotton Belt locomotives were common on this train and its west bound counterpart 277 during this time. This section of track is now gone. CSX abandoned a large portion of this route in the late 1980s. |
