Description:  Brand new Union Pacific ES44AC #8072 leads the Roseville to North Platte, NE manifest (QRVNPP) through Truckee after an unscheduled stop due to one of the two GEVOs on the rear "catching fire" (reportedly shooting flames from the stack). Cal Fire was called to the scene and stretched a hose to the locomotive. The train was stopped for about 20 minutes due to this little mishap. It is unknown whether the trains crew decided to shut down the malfunctioning unit or not before they got underway again.

Description:  Just fourteen miles from Union Pacific’s big West Colton Yard, UP ES44AC 8072, SD70ACe 8512 and AC4400CW 6019 (with AC4400CW 5946 and ET44AC 2588 as the rear DPU) passes through Ordway, the name of the control point in Redlands, California, on the UP's Yuma Subdivision (formerly Southern Pacific's trackage). It is mid-August (8/13/16) and the late summer heat has settled in - it was 102º when train QEWWC-10 emerged from the orange groves.
