Description:  A Wisconsin and Southern train fouls the grade crossing at the intersection of Clairville Road and State Highway 91 on the edge of Oshkosh. The crew is doing some final switching at what is now a United Co-op facility (previously ADM, and before that WSOR Transload facility). The train will then depart for the return to Horicon. The WAMX's are new to the WATCO owned Wisconsin and Southern (WSOR) to replace the 3800 series GP38's.

Title:  WSOR 3809
Description:  The WSOR working on the spur to the Seneca canning facility located on former Chicago and Northwestern right of way. Ripon was once home to an at grade crossing of the Chicago and Northwestern and the Milwaukee Road. The Milwaukee Road line is still in use as a branch from Horicon to Oshkosh with the WSOR. The Chicago and Northwestern line in use is only two short spurs from the junction. One is a storage track along Gothic Mill Pond. The other is to the canning plant, about a half mile to the east of the junction.

Description:  WSOR train idles away on former MILW rails near the intersection of Hwy. 91 and Clairville Rd. at Town of Algoma, Winnebago Co., WI on 3 Mar. '18. The station sign says Oshkosh, but the northeast quadrant of this crossroads remains a small, isolated remnant of the Town of Algoma. It is bordered on west, north, and east by Oshkosh, and bordered on the south by the Town of Nekimi. The Oshkosh boundary is about 1,500 feet northeast of the station sign. Train had three locomotives, WAMX 3894, WAMX 3869 and WAMX 3870. I was surprised to find this train here. I was even more surprised to see it still sitting here the following day. The community of Fitzgerald used to be located at this crossroads.

That group seems to have had a convoluted and confusing history during its brief ownership of the facility; various references refer to it as Martini’s Olsen’s Mill Acquisition Co., or Olsen’s Mill Acquisition Co., or Wisconsin Ag Services, or Ag Services of Wisconsin, et al. Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) acquired the facility from Olsen’s Mill Acquisition Co./Ag Services of Wis. ca. 31 Aug. ’11. United Cooperative purchased the facility from ADM ca. Nov. ’15. The community of Fitzgerald used to be located at this crossroads.
